Source: Unknown newspaper (in a booklet of obits collected by Claudine Sowers Yerkes, given to me by Betty Dotson)

Into the pioneer home of Eli and Mary Lewis Hobson, Dec 3, 1879 was born a son, William H always called “Bud” who grew to manhood and lived his entire life in Liberty Township near the place of his birth just north of Tangier. He spent his happy boyhood days with his parents, brothers and sisters and attended the school o his generation.  He was married to Miss Grace Marshall Nov 30, 1901 and they were the parents of four children, the mother dying when they were quite young and the father keeping up the home and trying to fill the place of father and mother for them. The two sons, Wrd and Dalls preceded their father in death. Later on Dec 29, 1925 he was married to Mrs. Nora Parrish who has kept a cheerful home for him to which his children were always welcome for 20 years. On the cold Sunday morning on Jan 27, 1948 at the age of 66 years one month and 24 days, after money months of suffering which he endured so patiently and uncomplaingly his life on earth ended. Slowly but sure the sands of life in the hour glass of time drifted away and the spirit entered into a new existence. Bud Hobson was a kind man of quiet unassuming manners who has been a good son, brother, husband and father, a true friend and an obliging neighbor.  He was a faithful member of the K of P lodge for many years. He is survived by the widow, Nora, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Scott of Tangier, Mrs. Doris Williams of Indianapolis, 7 grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Artie Hobson of Tangier and Mrs. anna Seely of Montezuma; one brother, Okley Hobson of Montezuma, other relatives and many friends and will be sadly missed in the community.
